My Story
Hi, I’m Khadijah — a first-time mom, 30 years old, a travel labor and delivery nurse, and a PMHNP student with a heart rooted in maternal mental health.

I started My Honest Shift as a personal outlet — a space to breathe, reflect, and be real about the complexities of motherhood. As someone who has supported countless women through birth, I thought I was prepared for my own. But becoming a mother myself cracked me open in ways I didn’t expect — emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

This blog is a safe corner of the internet where I share the raw truths of my journey. From NICU tears to postpartum recovery, breastfeeding struggles to mental health lows, I write with honesty not perfection. My goal is to create a space where other moms — especially new moms — can feel seen, heard, and never alone in their experience.

Whether you’re reading through tears or with a tired smile on your face, you’re welcome here. This is my shift, but it might feel like yours too.

Welcome to My Honest Shift.
